Alexandre Gismonti, son of the renowned multi-instrumentalist Egberto Gismonti, has been accompanying his father on tours since 1997. In 2009, he recorded "Saudações" with Egberto for ECM, and in 2010, he released his solo album "Baião de Domingo," earning a nomination for the Brazilian Music Award. Alexandre participated in the "International Guitar Night" project from 2010 to 2011, touring the UK, Canada, and the USA, and recorded "International Guitar Night V." As a composer, he has been recognized in various festivals and won first prize at the Festival de Música das Rádios Mec e Nacional in 2015 with his composition "Na Pressão." In addition to his performing and composing career, Alexandre is a dedicated teacher and researcher. He has conducted workshops and lectures in Brazil and the US, including courses on Brazilian rhythms and music modalism. His research includes a master's dissertation on polyrhythm in guitar music, and he is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Alexandre's work as an arranger and performer has also been widely recognized, further establishing him as a significant figure in Brazilian music.
