Judicaël Perroy is widely known as an extraordinary virtuoso classical guitarist and musician with several prizes to his credit. Born in 1973 in Paris, Perroy began playing guitar at age 7, and began performing as a soloist by the age of 11. He won second prize at the International Guitar Competition of Île-de-France at age 14, and later continued to win 1st prize at a variety of renowned competitions. In 1997 he captured the prestigious first prize of the 15th Guitar Foundation of America International Competition and Convention awarding him a tour of the United States and Canada with more than sixty concerts and masterclasses. During his GFA tour, Mel Bay Publications recorded and published a live concert from Lubbock, TX. Following his tour, he went on to record multiple albums for Bayard Musique and a Bach album for Naxos. Judicaël is regularly invited to give masterclasses at many of the top conservatories and universities in the United States and abroad. He has held teaching positions at Ecole Nationale de Musique d’Aulney-sous-Bois and Ecole Nationale de Musique Blanc-Mesnil, and was substitute guitar department chair at Stetson University. Currently he is on faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and holds a teaching position in Lille’s apPSEA (Association de préfiguration du Pôle supérieur d’enseignements artistiques), Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
