Persian Guitar invites you on a colorful journey around Iran, a country with exceptional cultural diversity and a rich background of ethnic musical traditions. Remarkable Iranian guitarist and composer Golfam Khayam has assembled a team of young and talented guitarists from different parts of the country who have performed nine folk or composed songs on solo guitar -- Dayeh Dayeh from Lorestan, Jane Showken from Balouchestan, Sari Galin from Azerbaijan, Dehkordi from Shahrekord, Robabeh Jan from Mazandaran, Keras Charmi from Kurdistan, Ay Sar Kotal from Fars, Noctürn from Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov, and Torkaman by Hossein Alizadeh, inspired by Turkmen music. The result is not only a delightful assortment of Persian musical flavors but also evidence of the guitar's phenomenal capacity to accommodate and express a wide range of musical characters.
